「魔法奇兵」第四季第十四集——Goodbye Iowa

Willow: I mean, I really like just talking and hanging out with you and stuff.

Tara: I know that.

這一集的「魔法奇兵」，主要是講滅魔指揮部發展出的妖魔戰士亞當，殺了華許教授逃了出來。同時Buffy的男友Riley無法接受自己待的滅魔指揮部會發展這樣的東西，整個人變得非常掙扎，甚至還懷疑Buffy等人。不過呢，這都跟我們的Willow和Tara的故事沒多大關聯。哈，這一集Willow和Tara的故事，是第五季Family講Tara身世那一集的伏筆。裡面還是可以感受得到，Willow對Tara的態度——她很怕Tara覺得她只是把她當成練魔法的夥伴。

	Tara在宿舍內，聽到有人敲門的聲音，她走上前去把門打開，發現是看來一臉笑意的Willow站在走廊上。 Willow: (smiling) Howdy. 薇珞：（笑）妳好。
	Tara: (smiles) I just got your message a minute ago. I was in class. But I was about to call you. 泰拉：（開心）我剛剛才聽到妳的留言。我之前在上課。我才剛要打電話給妳呢。

Tara往後退一步，讓Willow走進房內。
Willow: I had so much fun the other night. The spells.
薇珞：前幾晚我感到非常快樂。因為練習了不少魔咒。

Tara: Yeah, that was nice.
泰拉：（微笑）是啊，真棒。

Willow: I hope you don't think that I just come over for the spells and everything. I mean, I really like just talking and hanging out with you and stuff.
薇珞：（有點急促）我希望妳不要覺得我來找妳，都只是為了要來練習魔法或什麼的。我是說，我真的很喜歡跟妳說話，而且和妳在一起。

Tara: I know that. (knowingly) But you want to do a spell. 泰拉：我了解。（會意地說）但是妳現在來是想要練習魔法的。 Willow: Yeah. But only because it's really important. There's this-- 薇珞：對。但我剛剛說的真的很重要。有這…… Tara: No. You don't have to explain. I don't mind. Really. (smiles) I've been, um, thinking about that last spell we did all day. 泰拉：（打斷）沒關係。妳不用解釋那麼多。我不會介意的。真的。（笑）我已經，嗯，想我們上次做的魔法想一整天了。 Willow: (excited) You have? Well this one should be fun, too. We conjure the goddess Thespia to help us locate demonic energy in the area. It shouldn't be too tricky. 薇珞：（驚喜）真的？那這次的應該會更好玩。我們召喚出賽思雅女神，來幫助我們鎖定這附近的惡魔能量。這魔法不會太難。

Tara: The goddess Thespia? Are you sure we're ready for that?
泰拉：（有點心虛）塞思雅女神？妳確定我們有能力召喚嗎？
Willow: You and me? (gamely) This is beneath us.
薇珞：妳跟我嗎？（堅定地說）我倆綽綽有餘。

泰拉感覺有點若有所思。

Tara: (considers) . . . Okay. If you say so.

泰拉：（考慮中）……好吧。就聽妳的。

隔晚，在Tara的房內，她倆在地上畫出了一個四角的魔咒符號，每個角上面都壓了一個不同顏色的水晶。Willow和Tara隔著這個魔咒符號，面對面而坐，此時Willow正在一個小碗裡準備著某樣東西。

Tara指著地上的魔咒符號和水晶。
Tara: So . . the square is Sunnydale?
泰拉：所以……這個方形就是代表太陽谷囉？

Willow: Right. It's like a map. We both take different parts of the potion and when we do the incantation we both blow it onto the square at the exact same time.
薇珞：對。這就像個地圖一樣。我們兩個各自抓碗中的不同粉末，當我們念咒時，我們就把這些粉末同時吹向這方形內。

Tara: But how does it work?
泰拉：但是接著會怎樣？
Willow: Well, that's the cool part. When the potion mixes and Thespia's called it creates this mist over the parts where the demons are. I-It even makes different colors for different breeds.
薇珞：這就是有意思的部分了。當這些粉末混合在一起時，賽思雅女神就會被召喚出來，然後有妖魔的地方會朦朧一片。甚……甚至不同的惡魔種類還會有不同的顏色顯示喔。
Tara: Wow.
泰拉：哇。
Willow: You ready?
薇珞：妳準備好了嗎？

Tara點點頭，但看來表情不是很自然。Willow把小碗中的粉末倒進Tara的手掌心上，然後拿起另一個碗，也倒了一些粉末在自己的手上，。

Willow: Let's do it.
薇珞：開始吧。

Willow閉上眼睛，Tara也照做。 Tara: Thespia, we walk in shadow. Walk in blindness. You are the protector of the night. 泰拉：塞思雅，我們行走在陰影裡。行走在盲目中。妳是夜晚的守護神。 Willow: Thespia, goddess, ruler of all darkness, we implore you . . . open a window to the world of the underbeing. 薇珞：賽思雅女神，黑暗的掌管者，我們祈求妳……打開通往魔界的一扇窗戶。

Willow朝四方形內吹出了手上的粉末，這時Willow還是閉上眼睛，Tara假裝伸手把粉末吹出，實際上快速地把另一手上的粉末藏到自己的床下。
Willow: With your knowledge may we go in safety. With your grace may we speak of your benevolence.
薇珞：跟隨著妳的指引，讓我們在安全中前進。跟隨著妳的無上恩典，讓我們能說出妳的慈悲。

Willow念完咒語，接著張開眼睛看向四方形魔咒符號，她發現這魔咒一點用都沒有。她皺起眉頭，看向沒顯現出惡魔的魔咒符號。

Willow: Or not.
薇珞：沒有。

Willow看向Tara，Tara也是看起來一臉失望地望向Willow。這之後，Willow跟Xander和Anya聊到這次的施法，她很納悶為什麼這次不會成功。
