隔日一早，Xander和Anya兩人躺在床上，看上去剛起床的樣子。 Xander: You want some breakfast, baby? 詹德：妳要來些早餐嗎？寶貝。 Anya: You don't have to go to work? 安雅：你不用去上班嗎？ Xander: Nah, I shut the crew down for the day. My guys start dancing around me, I don't know if I can deal. It's a flab thing. So, waffles? 詹德：不用，我今天要大家停工。我不知道我是否應付得了工人開始在我四周跳舞。這是沒什麼必要的事。那麼，妳要來點鬆餅嗎？

Anya把手擱在Xander身上。
Anya: Will you still make me waffles when we're married?
安雅：我們結婚後，你還會做鬆餅給我吃嗎？
Xander: No, I'll only make them for myself, but by California law, you will own half of them. Hey, how about omelettes? I could do an omelets. I've almost got that-
詹德：不，我只會做給自己吃，但是根據加州的法律，妳可以擁有它們的一半。（吻Anya）嘿，那來點煎蛋捲如何？我可以做份煎蛋捲。我幾乎已經……

這時Anya掀開被子，開始唱起歌來。 I’ll Never Tell (Xander & Anya) Anya： This is the man that I intend to entangle 這就是我打算纏著不放的男人 Isn't he fine? 他還不錯吧？ My claim to fame was to maim and to mangle 我之前出名的使命就是要摧殘和破壞 Vengeance was mine! 復仇曾是我的能力！

But I'm out of the biz
但是我現在已經不管那些了

我把得來的名聲拿來換他的愛情
The only trouble is - -
唯一的問題就是……

Anya和Xander：

Xander：

Anya： Say "housework" and he freezes 說到家事他就會發抖 Xander： She eats these skeezy cheeses that I can't describe 她都吃一些我形容不出的噁心起司

Anya：
I talk; he breezes
我說話，他溜跑

Xander：
She doesn't know what "please" is
她不知道什麼叫做「請」

Anya：
His penis got diseases from a Chumash tribe!
他的小弟弟從印地安部落裡染了病！

Anya和Xander： The vibe gets kind of scary 氣氛變得有點讓人害怕 Xander： Like, she thinks I'm ordinary 好比她覺得我很差勁
Anya： Like, it's all just temporary 好比美好的一切都只是暫時 Xander： Like, her toes are kind of hairy 好比她的腳指頭毛有點多

Anya和Xander：

Anya：

Anya和Xander：

Xander： Is she looking for a pot of gold? 她會跑去挖什麼黃金嗎？ Anya： Will I look good when I've gotten old? 當我老的時候我會好看嗎？

Xander：
Will our lives become too stressful if I'm never that successful?
如果我永遠都不會成功，我們的生活會充滿壓力嗎？

Anya：
Will I get so worn and wrinkly that I look like David Brinkley?
我會又老又憔悴，看起來像是大衛布林克利嗎？
（註：David Brinkley是美國知名的主播，他年紀有點大，還有禿頭）

Xander：
Am I crazy?
我瘋了嗎？

Anya：
Am I dreamin'?
我在作夢嗎？

Xander：
Am I marrying a demon?
我娶了一個惡魔嗎？

Anya和Xander： We can really raise the beam in making marriage a hell! 我們真的能夠越過婚姻的墳墓！ So, thank God, I'll never tell! 所以感謝老天，我絕對不會說出去的！ I swear, that I'll never tell 我發誓我絕對不會說出去。

Xander：
My lips are sealed
我的嘴巴緊緊的

Anya：
I take the Fifth
我拒絕發言

Xander：
Nothing to see
什麼都看不到
Move it along
順著過下去

Anya和Xander： I'll never 我絕對不會 Tell! 說的！ （歌曲結束）

唱完後，Anya和Xander兩人一起開心地倒在沙發上，大笑出聲，彷彿在掩飾剛剛唱出的心聲。

之後，他倆就約了Giles，在街上邊走邊討論這件讓大家唱歌、跳舞的事。但即使是討論，Anya和Xander也是同時間各說各話，Giles只好夾在中間聽他倆的七嘴八舌。 Xander: It's a nightmare. 詹德：這是個惡夢。 Anya: It has to be stopped. 安雅：這應該要被阻止。 Xander: It's a plague. It's like a nightmare about a plague. 詹德：這是個災難。這像是個災難般的惡夢。 Anya: It was like we were being watched. 安雅：這就像我們都被看透了一樣？ Xander: It's like, I didn't wanna be saying things--but they just kept pouring out. 詹德：這就像，我完全不想說的事被強迫說出口……就突然傾瀉而出。 Anya: Like there was a wall missing in our apartment. 安雅：就像房子裡的一道牆不見了…… Xander: And they rhymed and they were mean and 詹德：而這些事都被押了韻，它們都很毒辣而且…… Anya: Like there were only three walls and not a fourth wall and 安雅：就像只有三道牆，而第四道牆不見了，而且…… Xander: My eyes are not beady! 詹德：我不是晶亮的小眼睛！ Anya: My toes are not hairy! 安雅：我的腳指頭才沒有毛很多！

他們停止爭吵，一起看著Giles。
Xander: Giles, you've got to stop it.
詹得：Giles，你一定要阻止這件事。
Giles: Well, I am looking into some leads, and I-
吉爾斯：呃，我在想辦法找出一些線索，而我……
Anya: It's just, clearly our number is a retro pastiche that's never going to be a breakaway pop hit.
安雅：只是很明顯地，我們的演唱只像是過時的大雜燴歌曲，完全無法成為百老匯的熱門曲目。
Xander: Work with me, British man. Give me an axe and show me where to point it.
詹德：幫我想想辦法吧，英國人。給我一把斧頭，告訴我要去攻擊什麼。

他們在街上行走討論的同時，身旁傳出悠揚的歌聲。
Giles: Well now, Xander, it's not quite that simple. But I have learned about some disturbing things. Basically-
吉爾斯：這個嘛，Xander，這件事沒有那麼簡單。但是我已經研究出一些不尋常的地方了。基本上……

他們繼續走下去，但歌聲越來越大聲，原來是一位女士（註：這位女士是本劇的執行製作人Marti Noxon）正在用歌舞的方式求警察別開罰單。

No Parking Lady： Put that pad away. 把罰單拿走 I'm asking you, please, no 我在請求你，拜託，別這樣 It isn't right, it isn't fair! 這不對，這不公平！ There was no parking anywhere 到處都沒有停車位 I think that hydrant wasn't there 我還以為消防栓不在那裡 Why can't you let it go? 你為什麼不就算了呢？ I think I've paid more than my share 我想我花得比我賺得還多 I'm just a poor girl don't you care? 我只是一個窮女孩，你不在乎嗎？ Hey, I'm not wearing underwear… 嘿，我沒有穿內褲喔…… （歌曲結束）
歌聲漸小，Xander、Anya和Giles繼續沿著人行道走下去。 Xander: As in burnt up? Somebody set people on fire? That's nuts! 詹德：會自焚？有人會讓人起火？太誇張了！ Anya: I don't know. One more verse of our little ditty and I would've been looking for a gas can? 安雅：我不懂。我們再多唱些小小的歌，就不需要花錢買瓦斯桶了？

這時這三人經過三名正在街邊跳舞的清潔工人。
Giles: Well, clearly emotions are running high. But as far as I can tell these people burnt up from the inside, spontaneously combusted. I've only seen the one. I was able to examine the body while the police were taking witness arias.
吉爾斯：嗯，毫無掩飾的感情會越顯露越炙熱。但是就目前我所知道的，就是這些人是由體內開始燃燒，這是一種不由自主的自燃現象。我已經看到一具屍體了。當警察從目擊證人的歌聲中做筆錄時，我有趁機檢查一下屍體。

聽了一堆Giles的說法，Xander開始歸納起結論。
Xander: Okay, but we're sure that the things are related: the singing and dancing, and burning and dying.
詹德：好吧，但是我們確定了唱歌、跳舞、燃燒和死亡這四點是有關聯的。

Giles停下腳步，認真地看著Xander，身後的清潔工依舊跳得如火如荼。 Giles: We're not sure of much. Buffy's looking for leads at the local demon haunts, at least ... in theory she is, but ... she doesn't seem to- 吉爾斯：我們還不是很確定，Buffy正在惡魔常出沒的地方打聽消息，至少……理論上她正在這麼做，但……她好像又沒有……

Xander要Giles先不要太擔憂Buffy的表現。
Xander: She's easing back into it. We pulled her out of an untold hell dimension. Ergo the weirdness. The important thing is to be there for her.
詹德：她的心力正漸漸回到工作上。我們把她從可怕的地獄空間裡拉出來了。因為過程很詭異。所以我們最重要的就是要支持她。

Giles搖搖頭。
Giles: I'm helping her as much as I can, but, uh...
吉爾斯：我已經盡我所能的幫她了，但是，嗯……

Anya伸出手，有點笨拙地拍了拍Giles的肩膀，表示安慰。

另一方面，Buffy則是來到了Spike的墓穴，Spike正從通往他墓穴地下室的梯子爬上來，爬到一半就看到了Buffy。
Spike: The sun sets and she appears. Come to serenade me?
大釘：（嘆氣）太陽一落下，她就來了。（從梯子上爬上來，對著Buffy）來對我唱情歌的嗎？
Buffy: So you know what's going on.
芭菲：所以你知道是怎麼一回事。
Spike: Well, I've seen some damn funny things in the last two days. A 600 pound Chirago demon making like Yma Sumac, that one will stay with you. I remain immune, happy to say. Drink?
大釘：我這兩天已經看到一堆有趣的東西了。一個六百磅的克瑞哥惡魔像女高音一樣唱歌，那種可怕經驗一輩子都會忘不了。很高興地說，我自己倒是沒發生這種現象。（拿起一瓶威士忌）要喝點什麼嗎？
Buffy: A world of no. So any idea what's causing this?
芭菲：不用了。（坐下）那你覺得是什麼造成這件事的？

Spike的表情一下子變得很失望。 Spike: Oh. So that's all. You've just come to pump me for information. 大釘：喔。就這樣子。妳來找我就只是來跟我套消息的。 Buffy: What else would I wanna pump you for? I really just said that, didn't I? 芭菲：我是來跟你套些什麼嗎？（心虛）我剛剛真的是那麼說的嗎？ Spike: Yeah, well ... don't wanna bore you with the small talk. 大釘：對，嗯……我不想為這微不足道的交談掃妳的興。
Spike走向門邊，打開門坐勢要請Buffy離開。 Spike: Don't know a thing. 大釘：我什麼都不知道。 Buffy: What's up? You're all bad 'n moody. 芭菲：（皺眉）怎麼了？你看起來一付不高興的樣子。 Spike: Nothing. Glad you could stop by. 大釘：沒事。很高興妳願意過來一趟。

Spike的頭甩了甩，意思要Buffy馬上就走，但Buffy不為所動。Spike看著她，想努力壓抑自己內心的難過。
Spike: It's nothing.
大釘：沒事。
Buffy: What?
芭菲：什麼？

突然間，Spike居然也開口唱起歌來。

Rest In Peace (Spike) Spike： I died 我死了 So many years ago 在多年多年以前 But you can make me feel 但是妳可以讓我感覺到四周 Like it isn't so 彷彿從沒有過一般 And why you come to be with me 而妳為何過來與我同在 I think I finally know 我想我總算知道了 Mmmm, mmm 嗯~~

剛剛的歌曲唱到最後兩句時，Spike拉著Buffy跌進新挖好要放墳墓的凹穴中，歌曲唱完後，Buffy面無表情地看著Spike，沉默了一下子，她爬起身，跳出凹穴，Spike頭探出來，看著Buffy飛奔離去。
Spike: So ... you're not staying then?
大釘：那……妳不留下來嗎？

而同一時間在Dawn的臥室內，Dawn正從書包裡倒出一堆東西在桌上，把忘憂草當胸花別在胸前的Tara，正靠著門邊看她。 Tara: Lotta homework? 泰拉：很多作業嗎？ Dawn: Ah, math. It seemed cool when we were singing about it. 糖：嗯，是數學。我們唱數學的歌時，數學似乎挺酷的。

Tara微笑地說。
Tara: Willow said they have a lead on the whole musical extravaganza evil. This demon that can be summoned, some sort of Lord of the Dance. Oh, but not the scary one. Just a demon.
泰拉：Willow說他們已經對這音樂劇的怪現象找到了一條線索。這個惡魔是可以被召喚而來的，他算是某種舞蹈之王。喔，但不是很恐怖的那種。只是個惡魔罷了。

Dawn沒抬頭看Tara，她正低頭整理自己的東西。
Dawn: Um ... do they know who summoned it?
糖：嗯……他們知道是誰召喚來的嗎？
Tara: They don't even know its name yet. But Willow will find out. She's the brainy type.
泰拉：他們還不知道名字。但是Willow會查出來的。她是腦袋很靈光的那種人。

說完之後，Tara露出開心的微笑，Dawn也開心地看著Tara。
Dawn: Hm. I'm glad you guys made up.
糖：嗯。我很高興妳們合好了。
Tara: What?
泰拉：什麼？
Dawn: That fight you guys had about magic and stuff? It gives me belly rumblings when you guys fight.
糖：那個妳們兩個為了魔法的爭吵啊？妳們吵架會讓我感到很坐立不安。

被Willow忘憂草咒語所及的Tara，完全忘記之前曾有的爭吵，所以她滿臉疑惑地解釋。 Tara: Dawn, Willow and I never fought about- 泰拉：Dawn，Willow和我從沒有吵過跟…… Dawn: It's okay. It's just ... you guys are so great together. I just hate it when you- 糖：沒關係。那只是……妳們兩個在一起真的很棒。我只是很討厭妳們在……

突然間，Tara伸手碰到了別在胸前的忘憂草，她把草抽了出來，望著它的眉頭開始深鎖，這時背景響起"I'm Under Your Spell"的旋律。Dawn沒發現Tara的心事，繼續剛剛講的話。
Dawn: But that was the only fight I've seen you guys have anyway. But I'm still glad it's over.
糖：反正那是我唯一一次看過妳們吵架。我很高興爭吵已經過去了。

Tara難過地吸了口氣，眼神從忘憂草移到Dawn身上。
Tara: Dawn, I, um ... there's something I need at the shop. Will you be okay for a little while?
泰拉：Dawn，我，嗯……我有個東西丟在店裡。妳一個人在這裡一下子應該沒關係吧？
Dawn: Yes. The fifteen-year-old can spend a half an hour alone in her locked house.
糖：沒關係。十五歲的人可以獨自待在鎖起來的房內半小時。
Tara: I-I won't be gone long.
泰拉：我、我不會離開太久的。

一說完，Tara就轉身離去。

看著Tara離開，Dawn轉身走到梳妝檯前，她看上去相當寂寞。Dawn打開一個漂亮的木盒，木盒裡裝滿一堆她從魔法商店偷來的東西。Dawn難過地看著這些東西，然後抽起一條她偷來的項鍊，戴在自己的脖子上。接著，她邊照鏡子，邊幽幽地唱出自己的心聲。 Dawn: Does anybody even notice? Does anybody even care? 糖：（唱）有誰會注意到？又有誰會關心呢？

唱完之後，Dawn一轉身就看到三個惡魔站在身後，她嚇得大聲尖叫，但才一瞬間，她就被麻袋套住，準備帶往舞蹈之王Sweet身邊。
