Tara: Look, my family's

Willow: Sorry.
Tara: No! No, I
mean...There's just so much ... going on.
It's just ... I'm, I'm
really tired.

之後，在太陽谷大學的宿舍內。那時應該是下午，Tara走進自己的寢室，她一開門就發現自己的父親站在房內，手肘抱在胸前，檢視著她滿房的魔法用品，她於是呆站在門邊看著父親。

Mr. Maclay: The door wasn't locked. I was a little early. (looks around) I suppose you ... wanted me to see all these ... (picks up a large crystal and examines it) toys. (puts crystal down) You don't even try to hide it any more. I'd hoped maybe you'd gotten over the whole witchcraft thing. That if we let you go, you'd ... get it out of your system. (puts hands in pockets) Then they told me to look for you in ... (disgusted) that store. |
麥克雷先生：門之前沒鎖。我有點早到了。（四處環顧）我以為妳……想要讓我看看這些……（拿起一顆大水晶，並且檢查著）玩具。（把水晶球放下來）妳甚至連藏都沒想要藏。我真希望或許妳別再弄這些魔法的東西。所以若我們讓妳離家，妳就會……脫離妳本來該待環境。（把手放進口袋內）然後別人就會告訴我去……（噁心的表情）那種店找妳。〈註：我插嘴一下，Tara的爸爸以「哈利波特」的眼光來說，應該是個超級大麻瓜！〉
Tara緊張地看著自己的父親，回答道。
Tara: I didn't - I, I didn't kn-know that you were coming.
泰拉：〈結巴〉我不、我、我不知、知道你們會來。
Maclay先生瞪著Tara說。
Mr. Maclay: Of course we came. We haven't
heard from you in months. Your birthday's getting closer and closer. You know
what that means.
麥克雷先生：我們當然會來。我們好幾個月沒妳的消息了。妳的生日又越來越近。妳知道這代表什麼意義。
Tara難過地搖搖頭。
Tara: I don't think it's ... (stammers) it, it won't mean that-
泰拉：（難過）我不認為這……（結結巴巴）這、這不代表……
Maclay先生瞪著Tara，朝她走過去。
Mr. Maclay: You're turning twenty. It's the
same age your mother was when she... Do your friends even know?
麥克雷先生：妳要二十歲了。妳媽跟妳同年時，她就……。妳朋友們知道嗎？
Tara心虛地回答。
Tara: Y-yes.
泰拉：（結巴）知、知道。
Mr. Maclay: Are you lying to me?
麥克雷先生：妳在對我撒謊嗎？
Tara低頭看著地上。
Mr. Maclay: Tara, you're coming home with us. You know it's the only way.
麥克雷先生：Tara，妳得回家跟我們在一起。妳知道這是唯一的方式。
Tara皺著眉，抬起頭。
Tara: Home?
泰拉：回家？
Maclay先生上前，帶著恐嚇的口吻，對Tara說。
Mr. Maclay: You can't control what's going to happen. You have evil inside of you and it will come out. And letting yourself work all this magic is only going to make it worse. Where do you think that power comes from?
麥克雷先生：妳沒辦法控制會發生什麼事。妳體內藏有邪惡的靈魂，而且它就要顯露出來了。讓妳搞這些魔法的玩意，只會把事情弄得更糟。妳覺得妳那些〈魔法〉能力是從哪來的呢？
Tara看著父親，洩氣地說。
Tara: It ... it doesn't feel evil ... sir.
泰拉：那……那不會讓我感到邪惡的存在……先生。
Mr. Maclay: Evil never does. I don't feel
much like eating right now.
麥克雷先生：邪惡不會寫在臉上。（Tara看著地上，很難過）我現在一點都不想吃東西了。

Maclay先生從Tara面前走到她身旁，停了下來，又繼續說。 Mr. Maclay: I'll give you some time, but we need to be gone by morning. 麥克雷先生：我會給妳一些時間，但是我們明早就要走了。 說著Maclay先生踱步走向Tara身後的房門，Tara看來非常難過，他又回頭對Tara說。 Mr. Maclay: Your family loves you, Tara, no matter what. How do you think your friends are going to feel when they see your true face? 麥克雷先生：不管怎樣，妳的家人都愛妳，Tara。當妳朋友看到妳真正的一面，妳覺得他們會怎麼想？ |

這之後，轉到另一個場景，這時Glory把抓來的萊艾克惡魔綁在繩子上，並命令那個惡魔去殺了Buffy，惡魔同意了。
另一方面，Maclay先生走了之後，Tara變得更是心事重重，她獨自坐在房內，眼前有著一個不規則形狀的水晶，她正難過地想著事情。想著想著，身後的門開了，Willow走進房來。Tara則沒有回過身去。Willow愉快地跟她打招呼。
Willow: Hey.
薇珞：嘿。
Tara勉強擠出了一個微笑，轉身看著Willow。
Tara: Hey.
泰拉：嘿。
Willow朝Tara走去。
Willow: Was dinner fun?
薇珞：晚餐吃得愉快嗎？
Tara站起，看著Willow，點點頭。
Willow: Well, there's Scooby age afoot. Giles
called a meeting about our spankin' new menace.
薇珞：ㄟ，我們殺魔小組又得活動了。Giles之前打電話來要大家為了我們的新威脅目標開會。
Tara皺著眉頭回答道。
Tara: Oh ... y-you should go, they don't need
me for that. You can fill me in.
泰拉：喔……妳、妳去就好，那方面他們不需要我。妳就可以代替我了。
Willow走到Tara的眼前，關心地說。
Willow: (walks toward her) No, no, you have to come. This demon chick is supposed to be really powerful, and I was thinking. Maybe we could try that, that spell, you know, the one to find demons?
薇珞：不行、不行，妳得一起來。這個惡魔應該力量非常強大，而且我想，或許我們可以試一試那個、那個咒語，妳知道的，那個找出惡魔的咒語？〈註：請參閱第四季Goodbye Iowa那一集，那咒語Tara故意施法失敗，以免Willow發現她可能是惡魔。〉
Tara搖搖頭。
Tara: That didn't work.
泰拉：那個不會成功的。
Willow: Yeah ... but we only tried it once, and
I-I think I got some ingredients wrong.
薇珞：對啊……但是我們可以再試一次，而且我、我想我是在調和魔粉時出錯了。
Tara看來滿臉疲倦，她還是否決了Willow的提議。
Tara: Well, I-I'm tired. Maybe we can do it tomorrow?
泰拉：我、我累了。或許我們可以明天再弄？

Willow: You sure you don't wanna- 薇珞：妳確定你不想…… Tara的口氣顯露出了一些煩躁。 泰拉：聽好，我的家人都在這，好吧，我不能只……（頓了一下）只把我的心力都放在妳朋友和你們忙的事情上。 Willow像是踢到鐵板，看了看Tara。 薇珞：對不起。 |

Willow接著轉身離開Tara，朝房門口走去。Tara覺得剛剛話說得太重，又再度補充。
Tara: No! No, I mean...There's just so much ...
going on. It's just ... I'm, I'm really tired.
泰拉：不！不！我是說……（Willow停下來，轉身看她）有太多……事情發生了。只是……我、我真的很累。
Willow理解地點點頭。
Willow: Okay.
薇珞：好吧。
Tara: I'll see you in the morning. You can fill
me in.
泰拉：我們早上見。妳可以代替我的。
Willow微笑了一下。
Willow: Great. We'll be demon hunters.
薇珞：太好了。我們會是惡魔獵人的。
一看Willow離去，Tara趕緊轉身，翻閱著桌上堆成一堆的魔法書，她挑出一本，並翻開裡面有做記號的一頁，她看了看，心裡正在盤算著某個主意，。

接著Willow進到Giles店裡，她正要開始跟大家討論著那個奇怪紅衣女的來歷，鏡頭這時掃到，發現Tara正躲在店內通往Buffy訓練室的角落，偷看著大家，接著她喃喃自語地對著大家念起一串咒語。 Tara: (whispering) Blind Cadria, desolate queen, work my will upon them
all. Your curse upon them, my obeisance to you.

Giles: I-I'm sorry, where was I?
吉爾斯：對、對不起，我剛說到哪了？
Giles又帶著大家繼續討論下去，Tara向後退了兩步，繼續盯著大家。
之後Tara走回校園，校園挺暗的，她走著走著，看到Beth表妹迎面而來，Beth看來又驚又喜。
Beth: Tara.
貝絲：Tara。
Tara則不是很開心。
Tara: Beth, what are you-
泰拉：Beth，妳在做什……
Beth: I-I was looking for you.
貝絲：我、我在找妳呀。
Tara: I'm sorry we didn't get to have dinner.
泰拉：〈笑了一下〉很抱歉，我們沒有一起吃晚餐。
Beth: I just ... wanted to see if everything
was okay. (Tara smiles) See if you needed any help with anything. Packing.
貝絲：我只是……想要看看妳好不好。（Tara微笑）看看妳是否需要任何幫忙。比如幫忙打包。
Tara收回笑容，看來有點痛苦地說。
Tara: Beth, I'm not, I'm n-not (stutters) coming back with you.
泰拉：Beth，我不要、我不、不要（結巴）和妳一起回去。
Beth: You're not?
貝絲：妳不要？
Tara搖搖頭。
Tara: I-I don't think so.
泰拉：我、我不想回家。
Beth: You ... selfish bitch!
貝絲：妳……這自私的婊子！
Tara: What?!
泰拉：〈皺眉〉什麼？！
Beth: You don't care the slightest bitty bit
about your family, do you? Your dad's been worried sick about you every day
since you've been gone. There's a, a house that needs taking care of ... Donny
and your dad having to do for themselves while you're down here living god
knows what kind of lifestyle. (Tara looks upset) I can't wait till your little
friends find out the truth about you. And they will, you know. No matter how
innocent you act, they'll see.
貝絲：妳根本完全就不在乎妳的家人，對不對？妳爸爸自從妳離開後，就每天擔心到生病。有一、一大家子需要照料……自從妳跑到這，活著天知道什麼樣的生活後，Donny和妳的爸爸凡事都得自己來。（Tara看來很難過）我無法等到妳身旁的小朋友們發現妳真正一面後再行動了。而且他們遲早會知道，妳知道的。不管妳裝得多天真無邪，他們都會看見的。
Tara生氣並堅定地回答。
Tara: No they won't.
泰拉：不，他們不會。
Beth: They will. Unless you ... do some kind
of spell on them .... (sees Tara's face) You did!
貝絲：他們會的。除非妳……對他們下咒語……（看著Tara心虛的臉，恍然大悟）妳已經做了！
Tara: N-no!
泰拉：〈急〉沒、沒有！
Beth: You did something to them. I'm telling
your father.
貝絲：妳有對他們做什麼。我要跟妳爸說。
說完，Beth生氣地掉頭離去，Tara心急之下抓住她的手臂。
Tara: No! No, it wasn't anything!
泰拉：不要！不，我根本什麼都沒做！
Beth瞪著Tara。
Beth: You think you can just go around cursing
people? Your dad's gonna pop.
貝絲：妳以為妳可以就這樣子隨便給別人下咒嗎？妳爸會氣到殺人的。
Tara眼淚快流了出來，著急地說。
Tara: It was just so they wouldn't see.
So-so-so they wouldn't see the demon part of me. Please don't tell Dad. It's
harmless.
泰拉：那咒語只是讓他們看不見。所、所、所以他們不會看見我變成惡魔的一面。（哽咽）請不要告訴爸爸。那咒語不會害人。
這時切到魔法商店內，Buffy正在訓練室內做伸展運動，Willow則在店裡收拾著東西，她聽到有人敲門，以為是Tara。
Willow: Tara?
薇珞：Tara？
Willow開心地跑過去開門，結果打開門是兩個萊艾克惡魔猙獰地站在那，但是Willow完全看不到它們，她往門外看了看，疑惑地關上門又走進店內。
Willow: (to herself) I thought I heard something.
薇珞：（自言自語）我還以為我聽到什麼呢。
門口的兩個惡魔則是高興地偷笑著。而在太陽谷大學的校園內，Tara還是跟她的Beth表妹在一起，她看來很低落地坐在長椅上，她表妹依舊站在一旁繼續罵她。

Beth: Don't you see how out of control you are? You've been lying to these people for a year, and now you've put a spell on them, is that right? (shakes head) Is that a human thing to do? Now I'm telling your father. If he doesn't force you to come home, and I think he should, I know he's going to tell your friends the truth. If I were you, I'd tell them first. And then I'd tell them good-bye. |
貝絲：妳難道不明白妳有多失控嗎？妳已經騙了那些人一年了，而且現在妳還對他們下咒，這樣對嗎？（搖頭）那是一個人類做得出來的嗎？現在我要告訴妳爸。雖然我想他會逼妳回家，但如果他沒有，我就知道他跑去跟妳的朋友們說出實情了。如果我是妳，我會先跟他們說。而且然後，我會跟他們說再見。
Tara聽了Beth罵完，難過地看著別的方向。
